Space Filling Creatures
Explore tilings, play with shapes and make your own space filling creatures. This math related hands-on activity is designed for ages 10 and up.
The activities at this event vary according to student level.
Possible reservations: 5-8, 9-12 and adults.
Offerings: Zoom sessions. 40 minutes.
To engage in this activity you will need:
- 1 sheet of white printer paper
- 2-3 small rectangles about 5cm by 9cm cut out of cardsock or from a cereal box (old business cards work well)
- scissors
- tape
- pencil
- coloring utensils
Symmetry cutouts
Explore symmetry and create intricate cutouts. This math related hands-on activity is designed for ages 10 and up.
The activities at this event vary according to student level.
Possible reservations: 5-8, 9-12 and adults.

- 5-6 sheets of origami paper, or 8×10 color paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
Math friendly creatures
Play with math and create your own math friendly creature! This math related hands-on activity focused on shapes and counting is ideal for ages 5-7.
Possible reservations: K-2. 30 minutes.
To engage in this activity you will need:
- 1 sheet of white printer paper
- 3 strips of color paper or a page from a magazine or newspaper
- Glue
- Scissors
